Harlem Grown SUMMER CAMP

Harlem Grown’s Summer Camp is a seven-week program designed to engage and inspire children to explore the outdoors, become master farmers, taste and create delicious recipes, and lead healthier lives.

Campers participate in daily farming activities, learning how to grow food from seed to harvest, and prepare and eat the fruits of their bounty. Campers explore nature, sustainability, and food through weekly themed activities, including cooking, fitness, arts and crafts, science experiments, service projects, and field trips. All produce grown by the campers is taken home to their families or given to other members of the community, free of charge.

Our 2018 summer day camp is for children ages 7 to 14. Camp will run Monday through Friday, July 2 - August 17. Please note we will be closed on Wednesday, July 4. Our camp is free of charge for all families. Due to high demand, space is limited. Applications are due on April 15 to be entered into our lottery. We give priority to returning campers, to families with demonstrated financial need (includes qualification for SNAP, medicaid, or other public assistance programs), and children who live in Harlem. Families will be notified by May 1 if their child has received a spot.

To apply for summer day camp please fill out the Camper Application by April 15th.

Counselor-in-Training Program

Our Counselor-in-Training (CIT) program is for youth ages 15 to 17 years old. CITs learn how to become a Summer Camp Counselor through this unique, hands-on training program. Trainees who complete the program will receive a $500 stipend. The application deadline for our CIT program is April 15.  Applicants will be notified by May 1 if they have received a spot.
